Have The Facts. Know Your Health. GetPluggedIn!

Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc. supports cancer research through music. Although a significant part of what we do involves raising funds for the research, we understand that educating the masses about ways to reduce their risks for cancer is just as important. In many cases cancer is preventable— it is Amped 4-A-Cure’s mission to help individuals discover facts and unlock information that can truly change lives. After all, knowledge is power ... Our goal is arm you with everything you need to take charge of both your health and your life. Have the Facts, Know Your Health & “GetPluggedIn!”

Fact: Early detection through screening has been shown to reduce death in many types of cancers including breast, colon, cervical and skin cancers.

Amped 4-A-Cure’s “GetPluggedIn” program has partnered with major healthcare providers all across the United States to offer free screenings throughout the year. We want to encourage individuals to get screened and know the exact state of their health. We will get everyone “AMPED’ at each of the free screenings by having an official Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc. “GetPluggedIn” concert. Our goal is to show the community that knowing the facts and getting screened is the cool thing to do—and with celebrities, media personalities and musicians, that will not be a difficult task. Healthy living, knowing your status and getting screened is the best way to “GetPluggedIn” and “Get Amped.”

Fact: African Americans have the highest death rate and shortest survival of any racial and ethnic group in the US for most cancers.

A4AC is encouraging everyone to get tested, but we are taking additional steps to ensure that underserved communities are getting the facts about early detection and screenings. Statistically, in traditionally underserved populations (African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, those living in socioeconomic challenged neighborhoods, and other ethnic minority/immigrant groups), there are significantly even lower rates of early detection practices.

The “GetPluggedIn” program is universal and we want EVERYONE to have access to the information that can save lives!

Fact: “Approximately one-third of the more than 500,000 cancer deaths in the US this year can be attributed to poor diet and physical inactivity, while another third is caused by use of tobacco products.” – American Cancer Society

Making healthier lifestyle choices is a key ingredient to the prevention of cancer. By knowing and having the proper tools to live a healthier lifestyle, some cancers may be preventable altogether. Amped 4-A-Cure wants everyone to “GetPluggedIn” with the facts and know what to do to reduce your risk factors in developing cancer.
